TL;DR
In non-meme Form
This newsletter is a lofi-community. There aren’t likes or shares or reblogs, just links. My first system for sending links was via an excel sheet that I made for Aubrie. Overtime I started dropping into friends inboxes and DMs with links and eventually merged all of that into this newsletter. I don’t expect anyone to read the random things I send, but I do appreciate you for signing up. (I also wouldn’t be mad at ya for telling a friend or two ( or three ( or four ( though don’t tell 5 because that gets into chain letter territory ) ) ) )
This newsletter is a home cooked meal for friends and strangers. While most of the internet might feel like empty calories optimized to be shoved into your face, I wanted to create a sense of randomness on the web. (But still bound to my algorithm as you can probably guess there are themes and continuity to my interests.)
This newsletter is for me. I use it to process what I read and also to entertain. Awhile back when this project was changing from “Mello World” to “Mello Today” I went radio silent. I was working on turning this into a bigger and more ambitious project. But, I got burnt out. Capitalistic pressure and the need for personal productivity began to poison this for me. So, I scrapped that idea for the site. The old version is still up at mello.today depending on when you visit the link. (Also, the web developer in me built this overly complicated system because … why not? lol)
This newsletter isn’t changing. But, mello.today is. I want to build my own digital garden. I’m going to start experimenting more with art and format and tone and voice and other nice sounding words that my english major friends would know. I’ll probably start talking about it more in this newsletter. You’ll probably still get this newsletter every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (Though it has kind of divulged into whenever I feel like it.)

Or, none of this might happen. I might say screw it and just do the newsletter. I might stop everything, drop off the face of the earth, and adopt a dog named roger. Who knows!
